Naalehu Elementary School is located in the Hawaiian Islands on the island of Hawaii also known as "The Big Island". Naalehu Elementary was built in 1928, has an attendance area extending from Manuka Park to Hilea. Naalehu School services Pre K to Sixth Grade.

The area is known for its mountainous and rugged terrain and for its beautiful lush green valleys at the foot of Mauna Loa. The community is interested in preserving the rural lifestyle and the rich and aesthetic environment they presently enjoy.

Our community is ethnically diverse with many Hawaiians and part-Hawaiians, Filipinos, Caucasians, and Japanese. Recent newcomers have been Spanish speaking families from Central America, as well as a students from Micronesia and the Marshall Islands.

Naalehu School, in the district of Ka'u, is located in the southernmost town in the United States about twelve miles from Ka Lae or South Point on the Big Island of Hawaii.

The mission of Na'alehu Elementary School is to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to become happy, healthy, well adjusted, productive adults and responsible citizens; to help students become enthusiastic, lifelong learners who are able to manage change; and to help students have a positive impact on their families, their communities, their country, and their world.
